This attracted a huge amount of interest from farmers from all around. The trade for these was very strong, with top-quality types selling to well over €2,000/head.
Most of those on offer were of good quality and were met with strong demand. Prices of the average to better quality types in this sale ranged mainly from €1,300/head to €1,800/head.

This 575kg five-star Limousin maiden heifer born September 2015 sold for €1,880 (€3.27/kg).
The lighter types around 400kg, although still good quality, did not reach the highs on a price per kg basis as the heavier types.
Prices of these ranged mainly from €1,000 to €1,200.

This 455kg Charolais cross heifer born March 2016 sold for €1,090 (€2.40/kg).

This 525kg Limousin cross heifer born December 2015 sold for €1,120 (€2.13/kg).
Cull cows
The cull cow sale saw another very strong trade, with prices of over €2/kg paid for top-quality types. The majority of good-quality heavy U grade cows sold from €1.80/kg to €1.90/kg, with feeding cows selling mainly from €1.60/kg to €1.80/kg.
Old, thin cows continue to be a variable trade, with prices ranging from a little with the weight to about €250 over.
Heifer demand
The heifer trade was very strong once again, with plenty of demand for all good-quality types.
Those over 600kg that were R grade or better were a good trade once again, with prices ranging from €600 to €700 over and up to €800 over the weight.
Types from 500kg to 600kg were another good trade and prices ranged mainly from €550 to €650 over the weight.
Plain light heifers continue to be a slow sell, with sellers tending not to sell in some cases.
No let-up in bullock demand
The trade in the bullock ring was strong once again, with plenty of buyers still active for all quality lots.

This 555kg Charolais cross bullock born March 2016 sold for €1,365 (€2.46/kg).
All good-quality Charolais cattle remain in very strong demand. Other good-quality continentals were a firm trade also, with Angus and Herefords and plain Limousins a slower sell.

This 520kg Angus cross bullock born June 2016 sold for €1,070 (€2.06/kg).
Those over 600kg sold mainly from €700 to €800 over the weight, with average-quality types selling from €600 to €700 over.
Those from 500kg to 600kg sold mainly from €550 to €650 over the weight for the average bullock, with U grades making up to €800 over.
Bullocks from 400kg to 500kg sold mainly from €550 to €650 over, with most selling for more than €600 over the weight.
Again, better-quality types made from €700 over and upwards.

This 535kg Limousin cross bullock born July 2015 sold for €1,095 (€2.05/kg).
